Gahd, don’t we all just love the Sephora Sale? No matter how much I try to resist shopping during it, I always find myself at the end of it with a ginormous Sephora Sale Haul, and a wallet that hates me for about two months afterwards. Meh, #SorryNotSorry. As per usual, I indulged maybe a bit too much. I did go for a variety of skincare, makeup, hair care and fragrance, targeting higher priced items so that I would feel like I got the best deal possible. I’m not so bothered to spend $20 on a lipstick at full price, but a $100+ skincare item will make me hesitate at times, especially if I haven’t tried it before. Shall we dig in? Let’s do this! Read on for my Sephora sale haul items + mini reviews!
Son & Park Beauty Water $30 – Meet my new favorite cleansing water/toner. This immediately overtook Bioderma for me. It removes makeup like a champ, it smells pleasant, and it claims to exfoliate, and even out texture and dullness. Yes, I want all that. Plus hello, Korean skincare! I’ll take 50!
Sunday Riley C.E.O. Micro-Dissolve Cleansing Oil $39 – I wanted this because I love the moisturizer so much, but this just did not wow me at all. While it works well at removing makeup and doesn’t leave any gross residue behind, this personally really bothers my eyes. No matter how hard I try, I get this in my eyes all the time. I probably will not repurchase it and I’ll just stick to my HG Emma Hardie moringa cleansing balm.
Sunday Riley C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum $85 – OH. MY. GOD! This is an immediate favorite! Not only does this provide pretty immediate results for me, but the Vitamin C in this is a much more gentle, more stable, and more potent version than the one in my previous favorite, the Drunk Elephant C-Firma. With 15% Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (THC Ascorbate), this has made my complexion much more flawless, brighter, with my pores less noticeable and my skin just smoother. Unlike my DE one, this vitamin c does not burn and irritate my skin, and I really enjoy the orange scent as well. Another bonus: it wears beautifully under makeup as well.
Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial $80 – Thank you skin gods! This is A+++mazing! a 25% AHA and 2% BHA mask that will improve skin texture and tone, and give you youthful baby skin. I use this 1-2 times a week, and so far I think I am hooked for life. This might be my favorite purchase from the sale, and I regret not buying a backup. I will add a disclaimer though : my skin did burn and tingle a lot when I first used it, but I experienced less the second time and none the third time. Even with the pain, the results were worth it. Definite thumbs up!
Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil $72 – I picked this up because the Babyfacial has a sample and I fell in love with it. I don’t use it daily, only on days when I use the Babyfacial. On the other nights I stick to my Sunday Riley Juno Oil, but maybe once I finish that up I will try this full time. It does feel really nice, but as an oily skin girl, I stick to oils only at night mostly.
Drunk Elephant Lippe $22 – I couldn’t resist how cute and compact it was…However I almost died when I rolled it up and saw how little there was in it. I have been using it at night and in the morning while I do my makeup, and I will say that it works really well, but I am not yet convinced this is worth a repurchase. I think I’m using it up too fast. It does keep my lips moisturized, but I just think there are better ones out there.
Farsali Rose Gold Elixir $54 – Not sure why I bothered to buy into this hype. I dislike the Unicorn one, which I’ve had since it was called Unicorn Tears instead of the now renamed Unicorn Essence. I have seen all the Instagram videos and just got suckered in. That is how I feel about this product as well. Not to say that it isn’t a decent facial oil, but that’s just it, it’s just another facial oil, and I feel like I get less benefits from this than my other oils. I didn’t find that adding this to my lips before lipsticks did much, I could just use any other oil that I own for the same results. I will probably just use it up slowly, and about all I do with it is sometimes add it under my eyes before my other eye cream.
Dior Airflash Spray Foundation $62 – Yes! A new favorite! Not sure why I waited. I spray it on my Beauty Blender and then just bounce it on my face. Flawless!
Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Foundation $64 – I returned this already. If you were “fortunate” enough to catch my snaps/instagram story on this, you know exactly why. I was a complete oily mess! This was probably the worst foundation match for my skintype. Complete fail.
Laura Mercier Translucent Pressed Setting Powder $36 – Meh. Can’t say I find this impressive in any way. I have tried the loose numerous times in the past, and I did enjoy it. I figured this would be a portable version for those days when I need a little extra and I need to touch-up. I have used it, and I don’t find that it works as well as the loose. I never reach for it. Won’t repurchase.
Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronzer Coconut Perfect Tan $49 – This has gone back already. It was just too dark on me and I looked dirty and streaky. It did smell lovely, and if you are darker than my NC15 skin you might love it. I much prefer my Tom Ford Terra to this, so I’ll just stick to that. Unfortunately if you want this, it is now sold out. Perhaps it will restock later. Marc Jacobs The Bronze Bronzer Brush No. 12 White Edition $78 – Also returned already. Didn’t use it. After buying it and feeling it, I found the bristles to be too long and floppy and just not the type if brush that I prefer to use. For how much this cost, I will stick to my flawless Tom Ford Bronzer Brush.
Marc Jacobs Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayons $25 – I bought 5 of these. Well, the original black one (not the matte formula), and four other colors: (Grape)Vine, Over(Night), Mist Me?, Whirl(Pool). These are my all-time favorite eyeliner pencils and I must have them all! Definitely will repurchase!
Nars Banc De Sable Highlighter Palette $49 – Why oh why did I wait so long? Flawlessly perfect! These are so smooth and gorgeous on the skin. A must-have!
Nars Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer in Seaside $40 – Ok I’m cheating. I got this from Nars but used my friend Cindy’s discount so I’m including it in my haul since it was available at Sephora as well (but Cindy’s discount was better at Nars). I love this. So pretty, smooth, easily blendable. The color is light and works well for fair and light skintones. I love that it’s matte and doesn’t have that sparkle that the other formula has.
Make Up For Ever Star Lit Liquid in Pink Beige $24 – They were out of all the powder ones I wanted because I waited too long, so I picked this up instead. I really like it, and if I ever run out I might repurchase it. I love using it on the inner corner of my eyes, and since it sheers out really nicely, I will probably even try it on my cheeks for some extra bling.
Velour Silk Lashes $26 – Have used before so this was a repurchase. I enjoy these a lot. I picked up the Fluff’n’Whispie ones (2 of them), and the Fluff’n’Dolled Up ones. Both are great.
Huda Beauty Lashes $18 – I bought Carmen #9, and as with all Huda Lashes, I enjoy them a lot. All the lashes I bought have a thick band, since I prefer that type of a band. Will repurchase.
Pat McGrath Dark Star 006 in Ultraviolet Blue $130 – Um…why am I so weak? I will say, I actually enjoy everything in this set, except the packaging of the products. I suppose if you break down the cost per item, they’re not that expensive. Meh, that’s how I explain it to myself. I do like this set though so thumbs up.
Hermes Jour d’Hermes Gardenia $120 – Gardenia. ‘nough said. My favorite scent in the world, and this perfume did not disappoint for me at all. Definitely will repurchase.
Ellis Brooklyn Rrose Eau de Parfum & Body Milk Set $115 – Rose. Total bliss. Somewhere along the way I went from a strictly earthy and oriental scent girl to someone who loves anything Rose and Gardenia. This is a lovely rose scent, with Peony, Cassis, and Cashmere Woods notes as well. It wears extremely well on me and I’ll definitely repurchase.
IGK Down & Out Dirty Spray travel $16 – This smells horrible and leaves a weird residue that it sometimes visible on my hair. At first I loved the effect if gives, but I changed my mind. It smells horrible and I can’t get past that. Won’t repurchase.
Ouai Matte Pomade $24 – The scent is amazing, and I like that it isn’t an incredibly sticky and that it provides a lighter, movable finish.
Ouai Hair Oil $28 – This is my current favorite hair oil. I can’t quite place my finger on what the scent is, but it’s a floral, musky scent and it smells incredible. The oil gives my hair shine while maintaining body and bounce. It never leaves my hair greasy. Absolutely will repurchase.
Well, now that my wallet is in tears after this Sephora Sale haul, and I have to spend the next two months eating ramen noondles (thank god I love them), I am surrounded by products that I love. I went a bit overboard. Did you see anything that you might want to try as well? Let me know below!
